Design a Solution for a School Problem

A one-page solution pitch for a real problem on your campus — the problem, who it affects, your idea, and how you would test it in a week.

Entrepreneurship starts with noticing. Colleges and internship panels remember students who can describe a problem precisely and propose something buildable.

• Describe a problem in terms of the people it affects, not vague complaints
• Generate several ideas before committing to one
• Explain a solution simply enough that a stranger understands it in 60 seconds

   Observe for 10 minutes

   Walk through a normal school day and list five friction points — queues, notices, lost items, timings.

   Pick one and interview two people

   Ask them how often it happens and what they do about it today.

   Write the problem statement

   Use the form: [Who] struggles to [do what] because [reason], which leads to [impact].

   Generate five ideas, choose one

   Do not stop at the first idea. Pick the one you could test with no budget.

   Design a one-week test

   What would you do on Monday to find out if this works?

   Build your one-page pitch

   Use Canva, Docs or paper. Problem, people, idea, test, expected result.
